Sedum album - White stonecrop

A hardy, mat-forming evergreen succulent with small, bead-like leaves that flush red in drought or cold. Clusters of starry white flowers appear in summer, making it a valuable, low-maintenance groundcover for dry, exposed, or nutrient-poor sites.

• Exposure: Highly wind-tolerant; excellent for exposed and coastal locations, including areas with salty winds.
• Size: 5–10 cm tall in flower; spreads to form wide, low mats.
• Soil: Requires very well-drained soil; thrives in poor, sandy, gravelly, or shallow substrates. Very drought-tolerant.
• Sun: Full sun preferred; tolerates very light shade.
• Flowering Time: Early to mid-summer (typically June–August).
• Wildlife Benefits: Flowers attract bees, hoverflies, and other small pollinators; foliage mats provide shelter for tiny invertebrates.
