A delicate, moisture-loving, native wildflower recognised for its deeply cut, starry pink petals that give a frilled, “ragged” appearance. Commonly found in damp meadows and wet grasslands, it adds graceful movement and soft colour to naturalistic plantings.
• Exposure: Moderately wind-tolerant; suitable for open or semi-sheltered sites. Not strongly salt-tolerant, and generally unsuitable for harsh coastal conditions.
• Size: Typically 30–60 cm tall and 20–40 cm wide.
• Soil: Prefers moist, fertile, humus-rich soils; tolerates wet or seasonally boggy ground but not prolonged drought.
• Sun: Full sun to partial shade.
