Thymus serpyllum - Creeping Thyme

A low-growing, aromatic perennial forming dense, mat-like carpets of tiny leaves and masses of small purple-pink flowers. Ideal for rock gardens, paths, and dry slopes, it is both ornamental and highly attractive to pollinators.

  • Exposure: Very good wind tolerance; highly suitable for coastal gardens.
  • Size: Typically 5–10 cm tall, spreading 20–40 cm.
  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, light, sandy or stony soils; thrives in poor, dry ground.
